The cool think about Amazon affiliate links (and some others too) is you get a percentage of everything people buy on the site in X hours after clicking your link, not just on the one item you happen to be referencing. And need to emphasize that last point about starting before you have a huge audience. I was dropping links for a long time with no clicks when I had a small viewership, as the audience grew, those old links have started to generate income.
Great explaination. Affiliate marketing changed my life. Best ever deal was a 20k commission from a single sale – and I know guys who've beaten that with 30k even 40k commissions. Pick something with a high value and go supertight on the niche you service

I have a craft channel and refer to alot if products but not sure if I would be eligible for any affiliate programs with a low following like this. Just keep in mind with affiliate marketing how the dynamics of the relationship can change within the blink of an eye. If affiliate marketing becomes your main source of income and that retailer stops supporting its program or cuts its rates, you ultimately take the direct hit fully.
What's far more powerful in the long-term is owning your distribution and having greater control over your margins. Obviously that requires more work, but a 80% margin for a digital product vs. a 5% affiliate sale cut is a big difference!

Stocks and entertainment are different topics. I feel my YouTube channel is already too much of a variety channel. My channel finally starting to grow when I started a Facebook group.
